I spoke with Powerlogix this week regarding noise levels on their new 1 and 1.2Ghz dual upgrades. To my surprise and pleasure, the tech rep reported they tested a large member of fans for the new dual setup on the Cube and that I should expect the dual's to be "at least as quiet if not quieter than my existing 1 Ghz setup". Whoa!
I must be nuts. I never got my L3 cache problem resolved and was about to process my RMA when the new upgrades were announced. Instead, I am going to upgrade to the dual 1 Ghz (or 1.2 Ghz if final testing by PL works out) and use Powerlogix' full value trade up program to trade in my single 1Ghz unit. And pray for L3 cache compatibility on the new upgrade! -------------------- 1.2 GHz G4 Cube, 1024 MB PC133 RAM, 120 GB HD, 32 MB GeForce 2MX, MCE Internal Superdrive, 22" cinema display, OS X 10.3.7, Panaflo, Bluetooth, SoundSticks, 15GB iPod, iSight, 17" 1.33Ghz Powerbook
