^ great pic, one of his best "babies".
Very sad news indeed, Steve was incomparable. -------------------- The Mac may only have 10 % of the market, but it is clearly the top 10.

Many tributes/biographies/Obituaries I have read in the last few days have glossed over Steve's time away from Apple as being spent almost exclusively buying Pixar and making Toy Story. However, as we all know, Steve founded NeXT and made a (black) Cube among many other pieces of hardware. While those were not overly successful as computer hardware, the software was. Let's remember (or not forget) that the basis of the operating system we are all using (whatever version) on Macs is NEXTSTEP. If you have a NeXT computer (I have a NeXTStation) I think you'll agree that it is simply amazing how much of OS X is in NEXTSTEP - and that it was introduced in the late 80s! I remember the first time I turned on a NeXTStation (2006) and being amazed at how great the operating system was. I just kept thinking this is 15 years old and it's still better than any PC can do!
Yet another tribute to Steve Jobs' genius and forward thinking. Thanks Steve! -------------------- 1. Powerlogix 7448 1.7 GHz, 1.5 GB RAM, ATI Rage 128Pro, 20" ACD, OWC 6G 120GB SSD in ACARD sled, external FW Lacie Lightscribe DVD/CD RW, Noctua NF-R8 case fan with Low Noise Adapter, Apple Airport Express connected as an ethernet bridge, OS X 10.4.11
2. Powerlogix 7447a dual 1.5 GHz, 1.5 GB RAM, ATI Rage 128Pro, 17" ASD, WD 160 GB HDD, stock DVD, Noctua NF-R8 case fan with low noise adapter, OS X 10.4.11 3. Stock cube w/Panaflow case fan. |

He is one of the few that will live on, as we continue to use and interact with what he helped produce; he was part of humanizing the machine.
It hurts to know he is gone, but part of him, his creativity, stays with us; and we will be reminded of it not just now and again, but every time we turn to what he helped bring about. This post has been edited by CubeIt: Oct 9 2011, 06:19 AM Attached image(s)

In Japan his passing was taken hard. A great man, a visionary. As Masayoshi Son the CEO of Softbank said, "In centuries from now, he will be remembered alongside Leonardo da Vinci." I guess he is in the iCloud looking over us all. Thanks for everything.
