I have decided to publish my latest Cube.
Over the past 8 years I have done a few mods to the Apple Cube and the 10th Anniversary Cube is the combination of many ideas collected from different experiments and experiences with the parts. http://macdevstudio.com/cube.html http://cubeowner.com/kbase_2/index.php?article=289 http://cubeowner.com/kbase_2/index.php?article=288 http://cubeowner.com/kbase_2/index.php?article=294 Basically, the idea was to keep the original internal distribution and functionality of the Cube that all the Hackintosh mods lack. In general the mod tries to be an upgrade to the original Cube instead of a mutilation of the original internals. The All Apple 10th Anniversary Cube is actually a revision to a mod that I created (7th Cube) in response to the "Mac Mini Cube" back in 2006. The 7th Cube was created from the Cube perspective not the other way around. Anyway, I am planning to sell the custom parts or pre-built 10th Anniversary Cubes and I would like to have some feedback before. Here are the All Apple 10th Anniversary Cube specs: Intel Core 2 Duo "Penryn" 2.4GHz/8GB/NV-GF 320M/2x100GB SSD RE RAID/64-bit/DL DVD/Lion Supported Here are the All Apple 7th Cube specs: Intel Core Duo "Yonah" 1.66GHz/1GB/GMA 950/80GB/32-bit/DL DVD/SL Supported Regards, Marcelo. Been faithful to the design and made them modern computers. I'm not sure what you're trying to do. Are you selling duplicates of the two listed Cubes (or parts for them) or the completed units? Do you have a price range in mind? -------------------- 1. Powerlogix Case, PLX Dual 1.7GHz 7447a (w/VRM Bypass), Black Sapphire 9800-128MB fitted with a copper Zalman V700CU , 1.5GB RAM, 120GB OWC SATA SSD mounted in a PSled with Koutech SATA adapter, Spirica VRM kit w/Giga C-VRM, Airport card, Base fan, custom front cover, Ext. FW NEC 3550 DL DVD/CD. All running on a stock Cube Brick (PSU). (Operational: Feburary 2006, ran for 3 years, now retired behind glass in a bookcase - still works though.)

Wow. I haven't been on these boards for a few years now but read about this over on TUAW. I'd be interested to know if you're building a few more to sell or just selling the originals also. It'd be awesome to have a Cube on my desk again. I miss that little guy.

1. disassemble the Cube
2. junk the Cube 3. build a bloody peecee into the junked Cube's case -What is with the guys building bloody peecees into everything? They are like Apple! (at least Apple seems to be improving, with the power efficient and snappy ARM-based stuff they are producing lately -- hopefully ARM will hit the desktop too, based on the visible trend of OS X HID iterating to iOS, and how snappy the latest iP* hardware and apps are) |

Are you selling duplicates of the two listed Cubes (or parts for them) or the completed units? Do you have a price range in mind? Thank you Fangsuede. I think the best would be to have a certain number of people (maybe 10) who are willing to buy the Cubes or kits. That way I could run all of them at the same time. I am willing to sell the cubes in three ways: 1. Ready to use. 2. The kits only. 3. I could receive the cubes (core only) and/or the MacMinis (unibody preferably) to retrofit them. I think the parts (kits) will cost about ~$235. I have the 2 Cubes (7th & 10th A) that I have been using and 5 cubes ready for the process. I don't have the minis yet. Anyway, I will put up a kick-starter page soon. Thank you again. Marcelo |

When you firm up the details and get your committed interest list going, please let us know. I still have a Cube in daily use but would not mind one that is 'Lion ready'. ![]() I'd be happy to be in the first 10 when you're ready. -------------------- 1. I'm certainly interested in something like this, dependent on price of course...
Having a 2.4GHz C2D in there brings things right into focus with 10.7 coming soon |

Any pricing information? I think the parts (kits) will cost about ~$235. You will have to add the Cube, the MacMini and the extras (SSDs, extra RAM, etc.) for the built to order ones. I will also offer the full retrofit service and the option to send me your Cubes and/or MacMinis (unibody). As an update, I already submitted the project to the KickStarter page and I am waiting for approval. I will put it up as soon as I receive their ok. Regards. M |
